Basement Window Wells Replacement and Installation
To prepare for the installation of a new window well or replace an old one, you need to first:

Excavate the area around the old window well and remove it.

Clean the surface of the foundation wall using a wire brush. Ensure that the foundation wall is not wet or damp.

The window well has been installed, secured, and leveled with the foundation wall.

The gap between the window well and the foundation wall should be sealed with polyurethane caulking sealant. This will prevent water from leaking and seeping into the window well during heavy rain.
Window Well Drain Installation
The window well drains are essential to your basement window well system. A properly functioning window well drain ensures that water does not build up in the well during heavy rain. To ensure proper drainage, connect the window well drain to an external or internal drain tile system or on top of the sump pit in case of a clogged external or internal drain tile system.

Digging down to the foundation of the house to access the exterior drainage system.

Removing a small section of the existing drain tile.

It is necessary to install a 4-inch drain and extend it 4 inches below the concrete ledge of the window.

Three-quarters of the washed gravel should be filled in the area around the connection between the exterior drainage system and the window well drain.
Window Well Drain Connection to Interior Drain Tile System

Coring a 2-inch hole through the basement wall, located 10-12 inches under and in the center of the window. The drainage cape should be 4 inches below the concrete ledge of the basement window well.

Install a 2-inch pipe that connects under the floor to the drain tile system.

Install a 4-inch drain assembly in the window well.

Seal around the pipe with injection epoxy

Coring a 2-inch hole through the basement wall, located 10-12 inches under and in the center of the window. The drainage cape should be 4 inches below the concrete ledge of the basement window well.

Install and secure a 2-inch pipe along the wall leading to the top of the sump pit.

Install a 4-inch drain assembly in the window well.
